Hair Transplant

A hair transplant is a surgical procedure to restore hair in areas affected by balding or thinning. It involves moving hair follicles from a “donor” site, typically the back or sides of the scalp, to the balding or thinning areas. The two main techniques are Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), where a strip of scalp is removed, and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), where individual follicles are harvested directly from the scalp.

The transplanted hair grows naturally over time and provides permanent results, typically visible after 6-12 months. It is most effective for individuals with pattern baldness or localized thinning, but sufficient donor hair is needed.

Hair transplants are minimally invasive but require downtime for recovery, with some swelling and redness common post-surgery. The results depend on factors like hair density, scalp condition, and surgeon expertise.

While it offers a long-term solution to hair loss, costs can be high, and multiple sessions might be required for full coverage. Hair transplants do not prevent future hair loss, so ongoing treatment or medications may be necessary to maintain overall hair health.
